How much does a tattoo cost?

Pricing varies by artist based on their experience, style, and the size/detail of your tattoo. While tattoos can be an investment, remember they’re permanent—and removal costs much more.

How Do I Prepare For My Tattoo Appointment?

You’ll want to eat a full meal and drink lots of water before your appointment. Don’t skip the water!! Water will help hydrate your skin. Be sure to moisturize the tattoo area leading up to your appointment. Avoid blood thinners including, but not limited to, alcohol, caffeine, and certain medications at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. We always recommend getting a good night sleep, having a full meal and some sugar before getting a tattoo to alleviate dizziness, nausea, and to increase your pain tolerance. Getting a tattoo with a low blood sugar level is not ideal.

I want to get my first tattoo—where do I begin?

Great question! Getting your first tattoo can feel intimidating. Start by browsing our artists’ portfolios and see which style speaks to you. From there, we’ll help you find inspiration and create a custom piece just for you. Prior to your appointment, be sure to sleep well, eat a solid meal before your appointment, and stay hydrated. The more prepared you are, the better the experience!

What do I need to bring to my tattoo appointment?

We ID everyone who gets tattooed at our studio and that is the only MUST to bring with you. We also recommend bringing snacks, water, headphones, portable video gaming systems, etc. if you have a long appointment. We do have a snack and beverage bar available to all clients if you forget yours.

Can I Bring A Guest?

Sure thing!! We have a waiting area and plenty of room for guests to hang out. If you’d like your guests to be at your artists station, please ask your artist so they can accommodate your guest.

Are Tattoos Safe?

Yes, as long as you go to a reputable tattoo artist that is following all recommended safety precautions, like all our artist here at Auralite Art Collective! Make sure you’re completely honest with your tattoo artist regarding any medical condition you may have or if prone to fainting. Clear communication is key to a safe and enjoyable experience!

I’m not 18 but have parental consent, can I still get tattooed?

Washington state laws require you to be 18+ years old to be tattooed. We are happy to tattoo on your 18th birthday, though! (:

Do you let clients use numbing cream?

Great question! Pain tolerance varies from person to person, and while tattoos can be uncomfortable, many clients get through sessions just fine without numbing. That said, some artists are open to clients using numbing creams, but it’s important to do your research.

Most topical numbing creams are not FDA-approved for tattoo use — only certain brands are FDA-registered for use on intact skin (before tattooing begins). These can sometimes affect skin texture or ink saturation, so we always recommend consulting your artist first.

Want to use numbing? Let us know in your booking form so we can pair you with an artist who supports it and guide you toward safe options.

How long do full sleeves take?

Full sleeves really depend on the amount of detail and the size of your arm. Typically, sleeves can take 3–6 full-day sessions.

Is it rude to not tip?

Not at all! While tips are never expected, they’re always appreciated as a gesture of gratitude for your artist’s time and effort. The best tip you can give is your trust, communication, a 5 star review, and a referral to a friend!

Support your artist however you feel comfortable — every bit of appreciation goes a long way.
