About Kyla

Kyla Oyamot is a professional artist and instructor utilizing a variety of mediums, styles, and techniques. 

Kyla has traveled the country professionally tattooing for more than a decade, and has taught paint classes to thousands of people. Her art background consists of animation, tattooing, paint instructing, and software engineering. She received her bachelor’s degree in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of Seattle, and earned certificates in UX Design and Web Development. 

Originally from Hawaii, Kyla finally landed in Spokane in March 2020 after living in Orange County and Las Vegas. She lives with her partner Megan and their many pets — a cat, bearded dragon, two dogs, and two jumping spiders. In her free time, you can find her watching bird videos, making art, eating tacos, drinking Dr. Pepper, or playing soccer. 

Kyla is mentoring Auralite’s newest tattoo apprentice. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and passion with up-and-coming artists of all mediums.
